Guess Who's TWO?

July 10th, 2009 was a very important day for us! It was the day that God gave us Maddox Lee Windham. We have been having a blast with him every since.  Maddox is quite a character, as most people know, and he keeps us pretty well entertained on a daily basis. Some of his favorite things are cookies, ice, tools, books, elephants, any sport that includes a ball (especially golf), playing in water (especially the fountain outside our place or "baf" as he calls it), trains (choo choo), the Toy Story Trilogy, Caillou (the most annoying cartoon in the world), and talking to ANYONE that will listen! He is talking a lot more lately. You may not understand what he is saying, but we do MOST of the time. He is a very outgoing child that absolutely loves people of any age. Maddox particularly likes to strike up conversations while we are in the check out line with random people who usually don't care to pretend like they understand what he saying. Oh well, at least he is friendly right? Needless to say, he pretty much has both his "da ee" and "mama" wrapped around his finger. We are head over heels in love with this little boy who is growing up way too fast!

Here he is on the morning of his birthday eve skyping with YaYa, PaPa, Andy, Aunt Gayle, and Great Grandma. We celebrated his birthday on Saturday because we were taking him to the fair.

He picked out his birthday crown all by himself. He wore it maybe five minutes...the length of his attention span at this age. Here he is blowing out a candle...they wanted to sing to him, but we didn't want to get the cake out at 9am which was the only time we could get to work out. This was the compromise.
He blew out a candle from our bedroom. Of course, then he wanted to blow it out a million times.

We decided to take Maddox to the fair for his birthday because his friend, Jett, was out of town, and there was no family in town to celebrate at the house (of course I know they wanted to be there). We were planning on going to the fair anyway, so this worked out really well.

Getting all ready to go!

First stop was the corn dog stand! We had to get our birthday boy fueled up for the day!

Next we went to the pig races because we figured Maddox would love it since he likes to make the pig sound any time he sees one. We were a little late, so daddy's shoulders were a great seat for Maddox.

This must have been a tense moment in the race.

It was hard for me to get a good shot, but there is a pig in this picture if you look close enough.

Next was the livestock exhibit. Maddox loves farm animals and makes all of the sounds, but seeing them up close was a little scary for him. They are a lot smaller in his books at home.

Next was a treat for the whole family. I have never been to a horse race before, so Maddox and I enjoyed our first one together! It was really fun and exciting! I am hooked now.

Checking out the horses before the race!

I don't know if you can tell, but he is clapping for the horses in this picture. He was really excited abou the race!

Here are the horses actually racing. I have no idea who won, but it was really cool being apart of the crowd with everyone cheering for the one they picked to win.

First funnel cake! Of course he loved it and so did we!

This little art section may have been Maddox's favorite part. He didn't want to leave.

  It's choo choo time!

By this time, he was DONE, but I wanted at least one picture to prove that I was actually there.

Back home to celebrate with cake and presents! Of course we had Toy Story balloons and cake!

These pix are not the best, but Beckett decided he wanted to eat right as we brought out the cake. We couldn't stop Maddox from digging in, so I just snapped these really quick. Cute cakes, but they didn't actually taste very good. We will make the next one at home.

            Opening the present from Grammy!

Thanks to Great Grandma and Aunt Gayle for the choo choo!

.....and the tool belt, and many more cool toys!

Well as you can see it was a very fun birthday. We have a very happy and blessed little boy! Maddox would like to take this time to thank everyone for all of the gifts and cards he received. Thanks Grandpaw, Grandma, Nanny, Pop, Yaya, Papa, Great Grandma, Aunt Gayle, Grammy and Poppy! We love you all and wish you were here!
