"No, the OTHER Goal!"

I am officially a soccer mom. The Seahawks had their first game today, and while I cannot say that we won, I can say that this season is going to be a lot of fun.

This is Maddox showing his enthusiasm for today's game. I have to cut him a little slack for his attitude since he woke up at 6:30, and the game didn't start until 12. Not exactly the ideal time for 3 and 4 year olds to play a sport, but we went with it and adrenaline must have taken over for most of the game.

I found this beautiful radio flyer wagon at a garage sale on Friday, and we figured it would be the perfect transportation from car to soccer field. Here are Maddox and Colton trying it out before the game.

The pregame "warm up."

Oh how he wanted to be out on that field.

He must have learned this stance from his dad because I have definitely seen it before.

Our Coach was unable to make it to the game, so we had a stand in parent as a coach for this first game. Since the kids had never seen him before, I am pretty sure that it was a bit confusing to them as to who to listen to out of the crowd of adults yelling directions. "Wrong way! Get the ball! Don't touch it with your hands! Turn around!"

"pep talk"

The chaos begins!

This was the only way that I could keep him off of the field.

The best shot that I got from the day. Maddox actually took the ball all of the way down the field. He didn't score per se, but it was a success nonetheless.

Waterbreak!

Our shirts were given out at half time. Maddox got number 7 which I have to admit I kind of like!

We love that it is orange too! Maddox is seen here checking out his shirt! After all if you are gonna play, you gotta look good...right?

Goooooooo Seahawks!

Getting a hug from dad mid play. A 3 year old can always use a little hug when playing soccer for the first time..especially from his hero!

Maddox is the youngest boy on the team, but he hung in there the whole time.We were so proud of him!

He played hard the whole time but did get tired at the end. He may have asked to be carried the last few minutes of the game, but hey, he is 3 after all.

First ever sporting event- CHECK! We even left with a big ole Maddox smile!  That is good enough for me!
