"Oh Christmas Tree"

To begin our Christmas family festivities, the Clark Griswold in me really wanted to go pick and cut our own tree! We searched high and low for the best place to take the kiddos and decided on Lemos Farms. They were packed with many fun activities for the family as well as a great tree selection!

Maddox loves animals so much and was so excited to see these goats...

I know this picture is blurry, but this is the very moment after one of the goats ate right out of his hand. This is how he looked at me when he turned around! I love this kid!

Excited about the gigantic rocking horse but not the picture.

Another horse photo op! Kevin is loving it!

There was a train ride that took us all over the property. It had some cute little scenes as we rode around, but some of them were still set up for Halloween. It was some what festive and somewhat disgusting.

Beckett was ready for the ride ahead!

I think you can see the confusion here.

My little buddy!

"O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree"

We were actually just stting on these haybales while Maddox ate his cookie (pictures to follow) when this nice man came up and asked if we wanted our photo taken!

The santa cookie in all of its glory!

It was actually a lot cuter than it was tasty, but Maddox suffered through and enjoyed it just the same.

Ok, so this tree is actually a fake one that we bought at Big Lots. When we got to Lemos Farms and started looking at the trees...we realized that we don't have very much room for a big fat tree. All of the ones that we saw there were fat. We went to Home Depot to see if they had any real ones that were kinda skinny...no such luck. So artificial pre-lit Christmas tree for us! We bought a candle that smells like trees to give us that Christmas feeling. When we buy another house in the future, we will go back to real trees. For now, we are happy with our skinny one!

Maddox was REALLY in to putting the ornaments on the tree with me this year. Usually, I do this by myself. It was so nice to have a companion this time around. I am so looking forward to both of my boys helping me decorate the tree in the future! Maddox even brought home his first handmade ornament from church and proudly placed it on the tree.  This is one of the things that I have always looked forward to as a mom!

There it is all decorated. I managed to leave Maddox's ornaments exactly where he placed them..even if they were on top of each other.
I really should have taken another picture before we took the tree down because many ornaments were replaced with shatter proof ones from Target. We had a few...ornament casualties with our very active toddler. We lost Mary and baby Jesus, a few Christmas balls, and even our new Disney ornament was broken. Oh well, memories were made!

Introducing "teetsy"!

Maddox named him after the huge, muscular lion in Madagascar. Teetsy actually only lasted a few days with us. Maddox was not the best at listening...so Teetsy went back to the North Pole, and I think he just forgot to come back. He will be back next year for sure!
