The Windham family's first Disneyland tour was amazing and filled with the magic of Christmas! We left our place on December 23rd at 4:30 AM and arrived in Anaheim at 10:00 AM. This cry free traveling experience was made possible by Grammy's early Christmas present...dvd players for the van! Thanks Grammy!
We spent our first day on the California Adventure side of the park armed with my tentative intinerary which actually worked out like a dream. My months of planning for this trip turned out to come in handy after all. At first, we thought we didn't need tickets to both Disneyland and California Adventure, but we are so glad we bought a park hopper pass because California Adventure had much smaller crowds, shorter lines, and all of the Pixar characters that Maddox loves!
Maddox loved this waterfall!
Beckett enjoying the ride from the comfort of his car seat....I promise that we take him out of this thing every once in a while.
Maddox haning out on Hollywood Blvd waiting for the Monster's Inc. parade to start. This is his, "I am excited beyond belief, but I don't want you to know" face.
He was excited until they tried to touch him...
then the tears started to flow.
He was a little better when we took him farther from the action.
I mean they are monsters after all.
Most of the family...
the rest of us!
Next Maddox wanted to ride the Monsters Inc. attraction which had no line and was actually really fun for the two of us. Kevin and I took turns riding rides with him while the other stayed with Beckett. I can't wait for the day when all of us can go together!
We managed to spot Handy Manny on one of the streets there, and Maddox agreed to go meet him. We weren't sure how it was going to play out after the tears that we experienced with the monsters.
He was excited....
and couldn't leave without a hug. This melted my heart! After this photo op, we watched the Disney Jr. Live Show. It was so cute, and Maddox was in awe when he saw his favorite characters from Mickey Mouse playhouse (or has he calls it "mouse and dot dog"), Jake and the Neverland Pirates, and Little Einsteins.
We walked over to the Disneyland Park just to get a feel for where eveything was, so our next day in that park would be smooth sailing. The kids needed to nap, but our room wasn't ready yet. We knew we wanted to get Santa pictures, and we found Santa's reindeer while walking around. There was a long line for Santa that day, so we waited till later in our trip for that.
After we were all napped up, we put the boys in their pjs and headed back to California Adventure for the World of Color light show!
Beckett started sitting up on his own really well while we were there, so I had to get a shot of him in action.
Waiting for the show to start. We waited over an hour in a crowd of people in which Maddox could not run around. We should get an award for keeping that kid still for that long. The entertainment included his lion, some bushes, and mama's imagination. To him, it was a safari where we were hunting for food. Once the lion was hurled out of arms reach, it was up to daddy to supply the entertainment via his i phone. Thank the Lord for technology! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Youtube was the ticket!
Beckett was an angel, but I am sure his days of heavenly behavior are numbered.
We all loved the show and decided that it was worth the wait.
The end of a magical night to begin our Christmas celebration at Disneyland!
