Look at that cute little smile! We have definitely made it past the colick stage..Thank the LORD! Beckett did not have a 3 month appointment, so I don't know any stats yet. However, he is steadily growing out of EVERYTHING. I think he fits best in size 6 month clothing right now, and his feet are starting to hang over the end of his swing. He is also pretty heavy but mostly long. He can hold his head up pretty well, but he is not quite ready for me to just carry him on my hip. His little personality is really starting to come out. He also is starting to notice when I walk away from him and will sometimes start to cry. He really likes being held and snuggled like his brother did, but he also likes to chill out on his play mat sometimes too. He will really cry when he is hungry and when he poops. He sometimes likes a bath and sometimes doesn't. He definitely hates being cold...but who doesn't? I am so in love with his little smiley face. When I smile at him, and he smiles back...I just melt. He loves it when Kevin talks to him, and He seems to always watch Maddox. Maddox is really loving being a big brother. He always wants to kiss and hold..."baby" which is all that he calls him so far. He is always concerned where the baby is, and WILL NOT leave the house until he knows that "baby" is coming too.
Some fun things to report from the month of August:
August 5th- First time he slept in his crib!
August 10th- First time he rolled over..stomach to back. He did it several times in a row, but he hasn't done it since.
August 19th- First time he slept all night. He went from 8pm to 6am without eating! Yay!!!
August 24th- First time he laughed! This is my favorite thing, and I had been waiting for it to happen.
I was singing the Itsy Bitsy spider to him and when I sang, "down comes the rain" I brushed my fingers across his face, and he cackled! I wish I had a video of it, but I haven't been able to catch it since. Anyway, Kevin and Maddox were there to witness it, so that was pretty cool.
Beckett is sleeping pretty much from 8 to 4 every night. I feed him and then he sleeps until 6:30 or so. We have a pretty good bedtime routine going for both boys. We do bath time, pajamas and lotion, books for Maddox, nursing for Beckett, say a prayer, and put them in the bed! So far we have had good luck with that system, so we stick to it like glue! Mama likes sleep! I usually stay up for about an hour after they go to bed, and then I get some shut eye. I figure I won't have to do that forever, but at least until I feel like I can take care of them with less sleep...this is what I am sticking with.
Our days usually go a little like this:
6:30 Everyone is awake and we all snuggle in the bed while Maddox watches cartoons and Beckett eats.
7:00 Everyone dressed and down for breakfast, Mama has coffee, cartoons, Beckett's tummy time, and a few diaper changes
9:00 We all go for a walk and to a park. We also sometimes walk down to see the cows...and/or watch the construction work going on down the street.
11:00 Back at home for lunch and nap...Maddox watches a little Letter Factory while eating usually.
3:00 Everyone is usually awake, and we go out on the porch and play in the pool, or with chalk, or with bubbles.
5:00 Daddy gets home!!!! My favorite part of the day.
