After a couple of weeks here, we are beginning to really feel at home here in Washington....well at least little bit. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to lately.
Making Playdough ice cream was one of the favorite activities this week along with trashing the playroom daily. They haven't quite mastered the clean up process yet, but neither have I.
Maddox made me chocoloate because he knows his mama very well. He said he "wuvs baniwa." Beckett was a little confused on why he couldn't actually eat the "ice cream." This made me wonder what the makers of the Playdough Ice Cream Parlor were really thinking when they thought up this grand idea of making foodlike items from a substance that no child should ever consume. Oh well, they didn't ask me, did they?
We visited a few schools for Maddox. We settled on a preschool called Joyful Noise! I hope he likes it. The kid is really needing to have some social interaction these days. Anywhere we go and he sees a kid, he runs up to them and says hi. Sometimes the kid is friendly and sometimes not. I know school will be a place he thrives....my little social butterfly.
Beckett still thinks he exists on this earth to climb on anything and everything that will support his 25 lb little body. This was the third time I had to get him down off of the furniture on that particlar visit. He was not very pleased with me.
Kevin had a week long business trip in Spokane this past week.
When daddy is out of town, we try to stay busy! It is the best way to keep the "I miss daddy" blues at bay. We also skype with him as much as possible. Here they are enjoying dinner with daddy.
Maddox wanted to be right in front of his daddy. (he usually isn't in a baby chair, but we are looking for a kitchen table and currently using our dining room as a playroom.)
When mama is tired and daddy is gone, we watch movies and eat popcorn with M&Ms! This was the first time Beckett had his own cup of popcorn. He was searching for those colorful candies at the bottom of his cup!
We met some new friends too! Yay!!! The boys learned that girls play with different kinds of toys than them...but they weren't picky as long as they got to play!
In between these fun activities and outings, the boys went over to the neighbor's house for a few hours at a time, and I frantically unpacked boxes trying to get this place in order. We are getting there....slowly..very slowly. It takes a lot longer to unpack when you have a couple of boys taking clothes out of closets and drawers while I am putting them away. Until we meet again...I will be unpacking.
Wow! I'm so impressed with all you're accomplishing! It exhausts me just reading about it! Everytime you guys cross my mind I say a prayer that you will find great support around your new home. You're a great mommy, Janna! Your boys are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Ashleigh! Keep em coming! We miss you guys. I am obsessed with your kids...they are just too cool for words.
